Nasri injury blow for Gunners
ARSENAL suffered another early-season injury blow yesterday after Samir Nasri underwent minor surgery on a knee injury.
The Frenchman suffered the injury in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool and has been ruled out for a month.
Nasri, 23, was drafted in by boss Arsene Wenger to fill Cesc Fabregas’s centre midfield role after the captain missed the trip to Anfield through illness. Fellow midfielders Alex Song (calf) and Denilson (adnominal problem) are also struggling with injury.
Nasri now faces a race to be fit for the start of Arsenal’s Champions League campaign on 14-15 September.
Fabregas, however, is expected to be back against Blackpool on Saturday, while Song may return in a central defensive role, with Laurent Koscielny suspended and Johan Djourou struggling with a hamstring strain.
