Nasri double puts City third
MANCHESTER City boss Manuel Pellegrini is targeting maximum points from this week’s trips to West Brom and Southampton after climbing to third in the Premier League.
Two goals from midfielder Samir Nasri and striker Alvaro Negredo’s 12th of the season saw off Swansea 3-0 yesterday as City continued their blistering home form. Their struggles have come away, where they have lost four from five, and Pellegrini says reversing that trend is key to his goal of overtaking leaders Arsenal by New Year.
“I have a lot of trust in this team. We have six games in December. We hope we can do it,” said Pellegrini, who called Wednesday’s trip to West Brom “a big challenge”.
