Murray plays safe for SW19
WIMBLEDON champion Andy Murray insists new coach Amelie Mauresmo will not make any significant changes to his game before he begins defending his title later this month.
Murray began his grass-court season yesterday with a straight-sets win over Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu at the Aegon Championships at Queen’s Club, the traditional Wimbledon warm-up event. It was also his first match since teaming up with Mauresmo, a former SW19 winner herself, though he warned her influence would be minimal until after the south London grand slam.
“We chatted a little bit afterwards, but this week there’s not going to be any big changes in my game,” he said. “I also wouldn’t expect any before Wimbledon.”
