Moyes still has sights set on European glory
MANCHESTER United boss David Moyes insists his side is equipped to challenge for the Champions League, despite their stuttering start to the season.
United have recorded just a solitary win in their last five Premier League matches.
Moyes takes his side to Shakhtar Donetsk tonight where no English team has ever won, but is adamant he can deliver a fourth Champions League trophy to Old Trafford.
“Of course we’ll try to win the Champions League,” he said.
“That’s part of the job at Manchester United and I’ll do everything to try to make that happen.”
Midfielder Ryan Giggs can become the leading Champions League appearance holder should he play any part tonight at the Donbass Arena.
Striker Robin van Persie, midfielder Marouane Fellaini and defenders Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra are likely to feature having missed the 2-1 home defeat to West Brom at the weekend.
However, defender Rio Ferdinand is suffering with a groin injury and has not travelled to Ukraine, while midfielders Anderson and Wilfried Zaha have also been left behind.
