Moyes eyes striker after Senderos
EVERTON boss David Moyes is targeting a deal for AC Milan outcast Klaas-Jan Huntelaar after sealing a loan swoop for Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos.
Huntelaar, who has also been linked with West Ham and Tottenham, is desperate for first-team football ahead of this summer’s World Cup. The Holland international has struggled in Italy, following an underwhelming stay at Real Madrid, but that has not deterred Moyes.
“I don’t talk about players at other clubs, but if Huntelaar was available I would be interested, certainly,” said the Scot. “I think we are lacking firepower. We’re creating plenty of chances but we’re not finishing games off like I think we should be.”
Senderos, meanwhile, has joined the Goodison Park outfit on loan until the end of the season after making just two Carling Cup appearances for the Gunners this season.
The Switzerland centre-back, out of contract at the end of the season, is also eager for regular action ahead of the World Cup.
“I can’t wait to get stuck in and play for Everton,” said the 24-year-old. “I am here with high hopes.”
