Mourinho eyes decisive spell
CHELSEA manager Jose Mourinho says the hectic Christmas period will sort the Premier League title contenders from the pretenders.
Arsenal sit four points clear but Mourinho, whose side visit Sunderland tonight, will only consider them favourites if they remain atop the table at New Year.
“There is a lot to play for in December and in the beginning of January,” he said ahead of his team’s second of six games in 17 days. “After that we can have a look and see if somebody from the six can open a real gap. I don’t think we can speak about favourites.”
The Blues have lost two of their last three away games but impressed in a comeback win over high-flying Southampton on Saturday.
Mourinho could recall striker Samuel Eto’o, who has recovered from a groin injury suffered last week at Basel.
Out-of-favour left-back Ashley Cole is set to play either tonight or at Stoke this weekend, the manager said, but centre-back David Luiz remains injured.
