Morgan bullish about batsmen despite seventh T20 loss in eight
STAND-IN captain Eoin Morgan insists England possess enough batting firepower to win the World Twenty20 despite suffering a seventh defeat from eight matches in the format yesterday.
England lost their final warm-up for the tournament in Bangladesh by 20 runs to India, after a promising start to their run chase faded to a final 158-6.
“Things are a bit clearer now,” said Morgan. “Our batting order is strong enough to compete with anything, especially on a good wicket like this.”
Moeen Ali top-scored with 46 off 38 balls and Michael Lumb made 36 off 25, after India registered 178-4 in Dhaka.
