Monitise hires chief operating officer to take on finance reins
Troubled payments firm Monitise has hired a chief operating officer, who will take on the responsibilities left by former chief financial officer Brad Petzer, who left in December.
Gavin James, a chartered accountant who has held a number of senior financial roles at both listed and private companies, will join the business formally by 30 June. He has been advising Monitise over the past five months, alongside his current role as chief executive of Vertex Group.
"While Gavin will devote sufficient time to the role of COO, he will continue to undertake work for Vertex Group," the company said this morning.
Monitise chief executive Lee Cameron added: "Gavin has supported the Company over the past five months and brings a wealth of experience to the role. His continued support and oversight of all operational and financial matters ensures that my time is focused on business development opportunities and execution of our strategy."
