Mitchell eyes world title shot
BOXING: Dagenham boxer Kevin Mitchell believes he is ready for a world title shot later this year.
Mitchell, 25, became the No1 contender for the WBO Inter-Continental lightweight belt after beating Breidis Prescott on points in December.
He now takes on Colombian Ignacio Mendoza at Wembley on Saturday night, and insists that victory there will put him in line for a world title shot.
He said:?“If Amir Khan can get a world title fight two fights after a loss, and I’m unbeaten at 25 years of age, I’m more than ready for a world title fight.”
