MINT carries off the polo crown
BACK for a fourth year, Hurlingham Park in Fulham once again thundered with the hooves of world class polo players for MINT Polo in the Park. Over 30,000 people packed the stands at the three-day event, to cheer on the six international teams from all over the world including Sydney (IG Index), Moscow, Buenos Aires, Abu Dhabi, Delhi and London.
Throughout the weekend, a number of celebrities including Leona Lewis, models David Gandy and Elen Rivas, mother of Frank Lampard’s children, and some of the Made in Chelsea cast dropped by to enjoy the polo and soak up the bustling atmosphere.
Guests looking to embrace the ultimate polo experience also made the most of the weekend thanks to The Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar and the Jubilee decorated Crown and Corgi pub.
Fans of Harrods’ fine food were not disappointed as the iconic store opened its famous pop-up food court, just metres away from the action.
The tournament was won by the MINT London team who fought off the challenge of Camino Real Buenos Aires. A jubilant home crowd cheered as MINT won narrowly by eight goals to seven.
City A.M.’s team Delhi unfortunately went out in the first round. There’s always next year to put that right, though.
