Meet our prince: Baby Cambridge leaves hospital with parents
CHEERING crowds greeted the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William last night as they left St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, giving the world the first glimpse of their son.
The third in line to the throne, who was born on Monday afternoon, was held by both parents and delighted onlookers as his raised hands resembled a royal wave.
Prince William then put the baby in a car seat in the back of their Range Rover and drove the new family back to Kensington Palace.
Kate’s parents visited their grandson at around 3pm yesterday afternoon, followed later by Prince Charles and Camilla. “He has a good pair of lungs on him, that’s for sure,” said William. “He is a big boy, quite heavy. We are still working on a name.” James is the bookies’ favourite, while George is a close second and Arthur is also considered likely – the last two are both middle names of Prince Charles.
The Queen was last night said to be “thrilled” at the birth, while Prince Charles called his grandson “marvellous.”
“It’s been very emotional,” said Kate. “Any parent will know what this feeling feels like.”
