McDowell ready to end Dubai hoodoo and win order of merit
BRITAIN’S Graeme McDowell hopes changes to the Earth Course in Dubai can see him crowned Europe’s No1 golfer this week.
McDowell tees off this morning knowing victory at the DP World Tour Championship can see him leapfrog world No3 Henrik Stenson to win the order of merit and is full of confidence despite failing to finish inside the top 10 in his four previous appearances at the course.
“The golf course is firmer and faster this year, which I think is going to suit me,” he said. “The course has matured, hopefully as well as I have, and I’m ready to see what I can do with an open mind.”
