London’s Science Museum evacuated over fire alarm
London's Science Museum was forced to evacuate hundreds of tourists this morning over a possible fire.
The London Fire Brigade was called to the scene at around 11:20am, after a fire alarm went off. Three fire crews were sent to the popular South Kensington premises to investigate.
We have evacuated the Museum as a precaution and will have an update to share soon.

Museum-goers complained of being evacuated without any explanation as to what the problem was. Tourists, school-children and science fans poured out onto the streets and had not been allowed back in an hour later.

However, the alert was thought to be a false alarm and the museum, which is currently running a Cosmonauts exhibition, was preparing to allow visitors back in.
Thanks for your patience. We've been given the all clear by the fire brigade and will be re-opening shortly.
