London named top city in the world
London has been voted top city in the world following the results of the internationally renowned bi-annual Anholt-GFK Roper City Brands Index. The UK capitol won first place for the city that makes it easiest for people from different cultures to fit in as well as first place for overall ranking.
London & Partners chief executive, Gordon Innes, said:
This is a very well respected survey and it really is great to see that it’s not only Londoners who know that this is the best place in the world to live, work and visit. London’s reputation is truly global and people’s perceptions of the capital are very strong and justified.
It marks the first time London has come out on top in the prestigious survey since it started in 2007. Unfortunately for this years winner, London was unable to make the top five of friendliest people.
Coming in second place was Sydney up from third place in the previous survey. Sydney was voted as having the friendliest people and the feeling the safest. The six categories included in the survey were presence, place, pre-requisites, people, pulse and potential.
