London Cocktail Week 2015 hits Spitalfields Market
Gin and tonic season may be well and truly finished, but have no fear; London Cocktail Week is back for its sixth year to keep Square Mile slickers inebriated this autumn.
From 5-11 October, Old Spitalfields Market, usually home to antique dealers, speciality stalls and Liverpool Street’s lunching lawyers and bankers, will become a huge week-long cocktail village across the entire market space.
Anyone with a wristband (which you order online and pick up from Spitalfields Market and Soho’s London Cocktail Week Information Hub) will be able to sample gins, vermouths and whiskys to their heart’s desire for a mere £5 per tipple.
Although it seems that Square Mile workers will at least have a productive day today, with the village opening at the close of play, more hardened drinkers will be relieved to discover that Spitalfields’ popup bars and stands will be open at 11:30am from tomorrow onwards.
In addition to the day-drinking opportunities open this week, a pop-up club at the market will also be having parties and DJ sets every night. LCW wristbands are available online at LondonCocktailWeek.com.
