RBS SEMINAR ON COVERED WARRANTS
RBS are holding a seminar next Wednesday on covered warrants. Andrew McHattie, an expert on warrants, will guide new investors through a variety of trading strategies. McHattie is currently the editor of Warrants Alert and Covered Warrants Alert and has previously worked for Phillips & Drew on both its international gilt and European equity trading desks. RBS will also give a talk on gaining leveraged exposure to the global markets. The seminar will be held at 250 Bishopsgate from 5.30pm to 7pm on Wednesday 27 October.
NEW RESEARCH PLATFORM ON ASCENTRIC
The Fund Research Centre has launched a new tool on the independent wrap platform, Ascentric. It covers funds and ETFs on both its platform and the wider market. Users of the platform can access their fund research and fund-related material in a single place. The interactive tools allow users to save their portfolios and add up the whole cost of their investment decision. There is also a search engine and filter tool available to help users review fund performance, ratings, asset allocation, regional allocation, country and market capitalisation.
AUTOMOBILES SAW LARGEST ETF OUTFLOWS
The largest outflows for ETFs this quarter were automobiles and healthcare at $114.7m and $4.5m respectively, according to BlackRock’s iShares in their quarterly ETF Landscape Global Handbook. The banking sector saw the largest inflows at $284.4m. While media and retail also saw inflows of $141.7m and $95.3m respectively. Year-to-date the STOXX Europe 600 sector ETFs have seen inflows of $699.1m, even if last week it experienced a $37.7m outflow in sector. The food and beverage sector saw the largest outflows at $167m year-to-date.
