Kompany: We’ll fight until the end
FOOTBALL: Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany believes his side can use their dramatic 2012 Premier League title triumph as inspiration to overcome Barcelona tonight. City trail 2-0 from the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, but Kompany has reminded his team-mates to fight until the end having scored twice in the final minutes of the 2011-12 season to turn no points into three against QPR and snatch the title from under the noses of rivals Manchester United. He said: “Football is made out of nights like this. If anything should give you belief then it should be that day against QPR.” City manager Manuel Pellegrini begins a two-match touchline ban, while defender Martin Demichelis is suspended. Barcelona have no fresh injury concerns. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid booked their place in the last-eight with a 4-1 win over AC Milan last night, following their 1-0 first-leg triumph.
