Just Eat devours more customers as orders jump
ONLINE takeaway service Just Eat reported a jump in orders in the first three months of the year, as investment into its apps and websites paid off.
Just Eat listed last Spring, and became the biggest technology float in London in eight years, said that like-for-like orders increased by 47 per cent in the first quarter to 31 March.
Total orders – including its French business (Alloresto.fr), which was consolidated in July, and its Mexican business bought in February – were up 51 per cent.
The company, which boasts 8.1m active users and is connected to 45,700 takeaway restaurants worldwide, said that investments in expanding its technology team and marketing campaigns were paying off, with more consumers switching to ordering food through its apps and websites.
