Jacques Vert sales slow
Fashion retailer Jacques Vert has reported a slowdown in sales, as the high street continues to suffer.
Growth was only 0.2 per cent in the 22 weeks since the beginning of the financial year, down from 1.7 per cent in the first nine weeks of the period.
Sales have weakened even further in the last three weeks.
Chairman Steve Bodger said that it is too early to tell whether the recent shrinkage is part of a trend.
Bodger said that the 0.2 per cent rise, “represents an encouraging performance in the current retail environment.”
The Jacques Vert group owns four retail brands, Jacques Vert, Windsmoor, Planet and Precis.
It sells through 1,000 outlets in the UK, Canada and Ireland, as well as online.
