…as it expands eastwards into Canary Wharf to fit in new staff
ACCOUNTANCY group EY is taking 200,000 square feet of office space in Canary Wharf, becoming the latest City firm to move staff to the Docklands.
EY, formerly known as Ernst & Young, confirmed yesterday that it will keep its offices at More London near Tower Bridge, where it has been based for almost a decade.
But the extra space at 25 Churchill Place, amounting to almost half the tower, is needed to house staff that cannot fit in the existing offices.
The 20-storey building in Canary Wharf was completed in February and will also house the European Medicines Agency from next year.
A construction revival has taken place at Canary Wharf in recent years, with the new Churchill Place tower joined by the Crossrail extension and plans for Europe’s tallest residential building. JP Morgan moved its Europe headquarters into Lehman Brothers’ old building last year.
