Ireland ease Trap’s pain

REPUBLIC of Ireland last night got their 2014 World Cup qualification campaign back on track with a victory that eased the pressure on manager Giovanni Trapattoni.
Marc Wilson gave the away side the lead with a header immediately after half-time and Jonathan Walters added another headed goal less than 10 minutes later.
Arnbjorn Hansen’s shot from inside the area into the bottom left corner in the 68th minute created brief uncertainty before an own goal from Pol Johannes Justinussen five minutes, and Darren O’Dea’s close-range strike two minutes from time, later sealed Ireland’s win.
