Liverool boss Jurgen Klopp admits error in urging 100,000 fans to travel to Europa League final whether or not they had a ticket
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revoked his message to the club’s fans and urged them not to travel to the Europa League final in Basel on 18 May unless they have a ticket.
Klopp was speaking after goals from Joe Allen and Roberto Firmino fired his side to a convincing 2-0 victory over Watford yesterday which maintained hopes of a top-six finish, having previously encouraged 100,000 fans to go to Switzerland,
“I’ve said a lot of things in press conferences and most of them are easy to forget, but last time I spoke, when I spoke about Basel, I spoke like a supporter,” said Klopp. “I invited all Liverpool fans to Basel and that was not too smart to be honest.”
