Funeral costs: Why is it so expensive to die?

The number of people buying funeral plans – which lets individuals pre-pay a monthly fee for their service – has surged amid growing concerns over affordability according to research by AXA Sun Life. Total sales of plans jumped nine per cent to 147,325 last year – or an increase of 12,000.
