House of Fraser poaches John Lewis’ chief technology officer Julian Burnett
House of Fraser has poached John Lewis' technology boss as its new chief information officer.
Julian Burnett will join the business from its rival department store, where he had been chief technology officer for the past three years, on 5 October, taking on the reins from interim Peter Marsden. He will join the executive committee and report directly into new chief executive Nigel Oddy, who has been at the helm for just a few months since John King's departure in February.
Burnett will be responsible for developing HoF's technology, integrating "business needs with IT strategy and delivery in line with House of Fraser’s strategy to further develop its multichannel offer".
Prior to working at John Lewis, Burnett was chief technology officer for Sainsbury.
Oddy said: “We are delighted to announce Julian’s appointment today and look forward to welcoming him to the House of Fraser team. His expertise and experience will be invaluable in delivering an IT strategy that further enhances and enables our growing multichannel proposition.”
