HMV gift cards to be honoured
HMV administrator Deloitte said this afternoon that gift cards can be redeemed in store from tomorrow.
The administrator had previously said that gift cards couldn’t be redeemed in the music and DVD retailer, which collapsed into administration last week.
Joint administrator Nick Edwards said that after assessing HMV’s financial position, it was able to honour gift cards.
He added that the ability of administrators to honour gift vouchers “will depend on the specific circumstances of each case”.
“We will continue to assess the longer term options for the business whilst continuing to trade. I am hopeful this process will result in the business continuing as a going concern,” he said this afternoon.
