Heartbroken Torres weighs up Blues exit
STRIKER Fernando Torres has dampened Chelsea’s Champions League celebrations by declaring the club need to persuade him not to quit Stamford Bridge.
Torres admits he was heartbroken to be left on the bench for Saturday’s final against Bayern Munich, calling it the biggest disappointment of his life.
The £50m Spaniard believes he has been let down by the Blues since his British record move from Liverpool and wants reassurances over his role in the team.
“This season I have felt things that I never had before,” said Torres, who has scored 12 in 66.
“I’ve felt like they treated me in a way that I didn’t expect – not in the way spoken of when they signed me. We’ve had a lot of talks and we’ll talk about my future.”
The 28-year-old added: “It was a huge disappointment when I saw the line-up, perhaps the biggest in my life. I thought I would play in this game and I couldn’t imagine not doing so.”
