Health sector set for change – New York Report
HEALTHCARE sector investors seem bullish ahead of a crucial Supreme Court ruling on the Affordable Care Act.
The court meets today but may not issue a ruling on King v Burwell, a challenge to President Obama’s signature healthcare reform legislation, until later this month.
At issue are the tax credits that help about 6.4m Americans buy insurance.
The decision could affect health insurers as well as hospitals and other providers.
Companies that are in the spotlight include Tenet Healthcare, LifePoint Health and UnitedHealth Group.
However, investors are betting that the healthcare sector’s recent strong run will not be held back for long, regardless of how the court decides.
Meanwhile, US companies reporting this week include Adobe Systems and La-Z-Boy.
