Harry rubbishes retirement talk and vows to emulate Sir Alex
DEFIANT Harry Redknapp insists he has no plans to retire following his abrupt departure from Tottenham on Wednesday night.
Redknapp, who maintained he would have been sacked even if he had qualified for the Champions League, cited his evergreen counterpart at Manchester United.
“I don’t think I am coming towards the end of my career,” said the 65-year-old. “Sir Alex Ferguson is in his seventies and isn’t coming to the end of his, he’s still the best in the world.”
Former Portsmouth, Southampton and West Ham manager Redknapp had heart surgery last season but added: “I am still fit as a fiddle. I feel great.”
Redknapp leaves Spurs despite finishing fourth in the Premier League twice and leading them into the Champions League for the first time in 2010.
