Gottex dusts itself down after rocky patch to signal fresh start
Gottex, the hedge fund company headed by investor Arpad “Arki” Busson, benefitted from strong performance in Asian funds last quarter, helping overall assets under management tick up.
Busson, who once dated Hollywood star Uma Thurman, took over as executive chairman of last month following a turbulent period for the company, which incurred a loss last year.
He signalled a renewed sense of confidence in the group yesterday after launching a new multi-asset fund and China-focused funds
“Thanks to our investment talent and formidable infrastructure, I am convinced that Gottex is well placed to regain its leadership role in the industry,” he said.
“I want to thank our clients and shareholders for their continued patience and trust in Gottex.”
Overall assets under management rose to $8.55bn (£5.5bn) for the three months ending June, from $8.46bn. Assets in its Asian products rose 28 per cent, cushioning a 21 per cent fall in its multi-asset range.
