Fury brands rival Chisora useless
HEAVYWEIGHT Tyson Fury has stoked the flames ahead of a likely bout with European champion Dereck Chisora later this year, branding his British rival “useless” and “a bum”.
Fury needed just four rounds to beat Joey Abell at the Copper Box Arena in Stratford on Saturday, taking his record to 22 fights unbeaten. Chisora, meanwhile, overcame Kevin Johnson on a unanimous points decision in the main event on the bill.
The pair are likely to face off in April for the chance to meet multiple world champion Wladimir Klitschko and 6ft 9in Fury is confident of repeating his 2011 triumph over Chisora.
“Chisora is one-paced, left hook then right-hand swing. He’s useless,” said the 25-year-old.
“I bring the action every time I come to fight. Tyson too fast Fury, that’s the name, fighting’s the game and these are bums compared to me.
“I want Wladimir Klitschko, he’s avoiding me, let’s get in on Vlad. I’m the best heavyweight on the planet. Bring them all on, I don’t care.”
Chisora, who has lost three of his nine bouts since defeat to Fury, refused the temptation to bite back at the Manchester fighter’s taunts, instead hoping his boxing can do the talking when the pair meet next.
“Good luck to him. He has to do what he’s doing and I do what I do,” said Chisora.
“I’m not in the game of trash talking anybody, so when he is ready he should let us know he’s ready so we can get it on. When the time is right we’re going to dance together and mix it up.”
