Fulop eyes top-four place
MARTON Fulop has set his sights on the Champions League after completing a controversial loan switch to Manchester City.
Fulop, 26, has joined from Sunderland after City successfully pleaded with the Premier League to make the emergency move.
And the Hungary international could go straight into the team on Saturday when the Blues meet Aston Villa in a match that could help decide who qualifies for Europe’s top club competition.
“I’m ready to play, if I’m selected,” said the former Tottenham shot-stopper. “I came here to do a job and I’m confident that I can do that. I feel good, and we need a win to get that fourth-place spot, which is so important for the club.”
City’s move came after regular No1 Shay Given dislocated a shoulder, and Fulop added: “It’s an horrific injury for a goalkeeper. I really hope that Shay recovers very soon.”
