FRANKIE’S THOUGHTS
I RIDE Farhh in tomorrow’s Coral-Eclipse which still looks a cracking race despite So You Think’s absence. Let’s face it, even though I’m now on the favourite, we’ve got some really nice horses to beat including last season’s King George winner, Nathaniel.
Anyway, I was delighted with Farhh at Royal Ascot where he ran a fantastic race in the Prince of Wales’ Stakes after giving up so much ground at the start. He just doesn’t behave in the stalls and you simply cannot give away five lengths in a Group One and expect to win.
He’s done loads of stalls work since Ascot and the mile-and-a-quarter trip is spot on. As a son of Pivotal, he’d obviously like more rain, but I’m more concerned about how he handles himself in the gates to be honest.
As for my other mounts tomorrow, Spirit Quartz is a nice horse and should go well from a decent draw in the Coral Charge, while Con Artist is a consistent sort in the Coral Challenge, but is pretty high in the handicap at present. Unlike Farhh, Cavalryman won’t want the rain in the Coral Marathon, while Falls Of Lora has it all to do under her penalty in the Coral Distaff.
