Flying Squad called into investigate “huge” Hatton Garden heist
The Flying Squad has been brought into investigate a “huge” robbery at London's iconic jewellery district Hatton Garden.
Police were called in this morning (April 7) after a burgulary took place over the weekend.
Around 300 safety deposit boxes are reported to have been taken in the heist.
Although police have not named the company that was affected, reports have named Hatton Garden Safe Deposit Ltd. Police and forensics teams have been photographed coming in and out of the premises today.
It is thought the robbers gained access through the lift shafts.
Jeweller Thelma West tweeted that the “loss is huge”.
