Flannery ban is upheld
RUGBY UNION: Ireland hooker Jerry Flannery will definitely miss the rest of the Six Nations Championship after failing in his bid to have his six-week ban overturned.
Flannery was handed the suspension after pleading guilty to kicking France winger Alexis Palisson during Ireland’s 33-10 defeat in Paris.
But attempts to reduce the length of his punishment were upheld by an independent appeal committee, chaired by Judge Jeff Blackett.
