Financiers run rings around the capital
IF THERE is one thing we can take away from this summer, it’s that the City’s bankers and financiers really like running around in circles. Teams from PwC took part in a Pride 10k run in Victoria Park over the weekend, celebrating the new-found diversity in the corporate world.
London LGBT running club Frontrunners organised the event, which saw members of PwC’s GLEE networking group take part in the Hackney run, raising money for Open Doors London, a charity aimed at reaching out to senior members of the LGBT community.
The team raised more than £1,000 for the cause and for promoting diversity in the workplace.
PwC staff, including senior associate Sebastian Smith, consultant Dan Richard, and PwC partner Andy Woodfield all mucked in to complete the 10K.
Their efforts come a week after another troop from the firm took part in the London Triathlon, with senior staff enduring a cycle, run and swim around Newham.
Last July was also big for financial fitness freaks as the Great City Run saw thousands of bankers, brokers and analysts running a ring around central London from Old Street to Bank. Not to mention Nike’s We Run London festival for health, where corporate teams and sponsors flocked to Victoria Park in their droves to enjoy the latest healthy lifestyle trends from protein ice-cream to wireless headphones. We just hope that all these analysts are getting overtime…
