Fifa election 2016 candidate Prince Ali’s lawyers attempt to suspend Friday’s vote with request to CAS
Lawyers representing Prince Ali bin al Hussein, a candidate in Friday's election for Fifa president, are attempting to have the vote suspended.
The Jordanian prince's lawyers have submitted an official request to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to suspend the election after his request for transparent voting booths was rejected by Fifa.
Prince Ali's team has sent clear voting booths to Zurich this week, but Fifa insists measures which require delegates from the 209 voting nations to hand over mobile phones and cameras before entering the booths is sufficient to ensure transparency.

In a statement seen by Agence France-Presse, lawyers for Prince Ali stated: "Fifa opposed our request for an accelerated procedure so that these questions could be decided before February 26.
"It was therefore natural that Prince Ali goes to the CAS."
