Fall in number of employment disputes as economy stabilises
A SUDDEN drop in demand for employment dispute lawyers has boosted hopes of a return to better economic times in the UK.
According to Contact Law, the first nine months of the year saw demand for employment lawyers rise 77 per cent as the recession fuelled demand.
But in November a 7.4 per cent decrease in employment-related enquiries, signalled the number of disputes has peaked as confidence returns.
Managing director James Vintin said: “Demand for specialist employment lawyers has surged all this year. The impact of the recession provided fertile ground for disputes between employers and their staff.”
Disputes were fuelled by unfair dismissal claims as lay-offs soared during the depths of recession.
