Facebook’s German office in Hamburg attacked by vandals who scrawled “dislike” graffiti
Facebook's offices in Germany have been attacked by vandals who scrawled a wall of the buliding with "Facebook Dislike" in red spray paint.
The office in Hamburg in the north of Germany was pelted with rocks and windows were smashed by a group of around 15 to 20 people dressed in black and wearing masks, AFP reports, citing a local police statement.
Authorities said they were searching for the vandals who fled on foot and that the motive behind the attack was not known.
The financial cost to the property is not known.
In November German prosecutors opened up an investigation into the company's alleged failure to remove racist hate speech from the platform.
The tech giant had said it would work alongside the government and internet service providers to remove hate speech after a wave of anti-refugee sentiment caused outrage in Germany.
