Europe growth boosts Danone
FRENCH food group Danone yesterday posted better than expected sales growth in the second quarter, helped by an improvement at its core dairy business in recession-hit Europe, sending its shares up 3.15 per cent.
The world’s largest yoghurt maker kept its full-year forecast for higher sales but weaker profitability.
Danone posted like-for-like sales growth of 6.5 per cent, above the 5.7 per cent forecast by analysts.
