Euro glory the target for Kuyt
LIVERPOOL forward Dirk Kuyt believes the Europa League will offer the club a major opportunity to end their five-year trophy drought.
Liverpool finished top of Group K after two wins and four draws following last night’s goalless draw against Utrecht at Anfield.
And Kuyt hopes this will be a season when the Reds can bring silverware to Merseyside.
He said: “We have a couple of targets and we like to win trophies. I think we have a very good chance to win this trophy.”
Meanwhile, owners John W Henry and Tom Werner will interview candidates for the vacant chief executive role on Friday with a view to making an appointment in the new year.
Former FA chief executive Brian Barwick has been linked with the role, as has former Arsenal managing director Keith Edelman.
