Employers say recruitment firms need to understand roles better
THE RECRUITMENT industry could do better in understanding the roles that it is filling, according to research from specialist recruiter BrightPool.
While UK’s largest employers said a recruiter should have a clear understanding of the job role on offer, only 67 per cent ranked recruitment companies’ performance as “satisfactory” or “good” and none as “excellent”.
Market knowledge of available talent was labelled a key concern, with 89 per cent judging this area as “satisfactory” or “good”, but only 11 per cent ranking it as “excellent”.
BrightPool managing director Angela Hickmore, said: “A full understanding of the job role and a comprehensive working knowledge of available talent is a threshold requirement for recruiters to deliver values. As an industry we need to brush up our performance on these basic criteria.”
