E-clear in administration as legal fight continues
A HIGH Court judge yesterday granted an administration order against E-Clear, the company which dealt with the online ticket sales of collapsed travel firm Globespan.
Mr Justice Vos, who made the ruling at a hearing in London, heard that E-Clear consented to the move.
The action against the company was brought by business adviser PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), which was appointed administrator of Globespan on 16 December. PwC claims E-Clear owes Globespan about £35m.
An initial hearing was adjourned to allow E-Clear to prepare its defence but this morning Mr Justice Vos was told the payments business had dropped its opposition and now consented to the administration request.
E-Clear chief executive Elias Elia, was not in court yesterday.
Globespan collapsed just before Christmas with the loss of an estimated 650 jobs.
