Dolphins dispatch sorry Oakland Raiders to ignite NFL campaign
QUARTERBACK Ryan Tannehill proved the star of the show as Miami Dolphins powered to a 38-14 victory over the Oakland Raiders in front of a sell-out crowd of 83, 436 at Wembley yesterday.
In the first of three NFL contests to be staged at the national stadium this season, Tannehill scored two of his side’s five touchdowns as they recorded their second win in four games after starting the campaign with a disappointing sequence of back-to-back defeats.
The London clash had started relatively well for the struggling Raiders who took an early lead when quarterback Derek Carr initiated a move which culminated in a three-yard touchdown pass to tight end Brian Leonhardt.
Miami responded and maximised their superiority to leave Oakland winless this season with their latest defeat likely to heap further pressure on head coach Dennis Allen.
