DJ puts King Kenny in a spin
BLACKPOOL 2 vs LIVERPOOL 1
BLACKPOOL striker DJ Campbell’s second-half strike ensured Kenny Dalglish is still searching for his first win in his second spell as Liverpool manager.
After defeat in the FA Cup third round at Old Trafford on Sunday, Dalglish saw his side react positively in the early exchanges at Bloomfield Road, with Fernando Torres scoring from a tight angle after three minutes.
But the lead lasted just nine minutes when Gary Taylor-Fletcher bundled his way past Daniel Agger and finished smartly beyond Pepe Reina.
Blackpool, who won 2-1 at Anfield in October, sent a crowd of over 16,000 into ecstacy 21 minutes from time when Campbell, unmarked, headed beyond Reina from six yards.
Dalglish, whose side are four points off the bottom three, said: “The harder we try, the luckier we’ll get. We are trying very hard to turn our luck. At the moment the luck is against us.”
