Deutsche Bank employees take up a week of super scrimping
IT’S HARD to imagine banking staff wondering if they can afford to splash out on a plain bagel from Sainsbury’s, but that could well be the experience of 43 Deutsche Bank employees this week as they try to live on £1 per day for five days. The scrimping isn’t anything to do with cost cutting, but is a bid to raise cash for charity, Malaria No More. The “Live Below the Line” challenge has been popular with celebrities in the past, such as Ben Affleck and Hugh Jackman, but now it’s down to the bankers.
Luckily for those taking part, the £1 relates to food and drink only (travel could become costly this week thanks to the Tube strike) but even then it’ll be tough. Let’s hope there’s some good deals around.
