Denman set for Scottish National
RACING: Denman joint-owner Paul Barber has admitted this year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up is likely to run in next month’s Scottish Grand National at Ayr.
The Paul Nicholls-trained charge heads the weights for the race at 11st 12lbs and Barber says a trip north of the border is a real possibility if the conditions continue to suit. “I think Ayr is virtually certain if the ground is soft,” Barber said.
“If the ground is fast, or even good, he will not be running. It has got to be on the soft side.”
