Dalglish snares Adam and mulls upping Downing bid
LIVERPOOL have reignited their summer transfer activity by agreeing a deal with Blackpool for long-term target Charlie Adam.
The Scotland midfielder, 25, will sign subject to a medical for a fee thought to be around £8m and follows last month’s £16m deal for Sunderland’s Jordan Henderson.
Manager Kenny Dalglish is mulling whether to up their failed £15m bid for Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing, while Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni is also close to signing on a free transfer.
Defender Glen Johnson, meanwhile, has signed a new contract.
