Cyclist seriously injured following bus collision; Farringdon and Clerkenwell roads closed
A cyclist has been seriously injured following a collision with a double-decker bus on a major road in Farringdon, north London this afternoon.
A man thought to be in his 30s was hit by the bus at the busy junction between Farringdon Road and Clerkenwell Road at around 1:15pm today.
Emergency services including an ambulance crew and London air ambulance are treating the man on the scene.
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 1.10pm today to reports of a person trapped under a bus on Clerkenwell Road at the junction of Farringdon Road, EC1.
“We sent an ambulance crew, Hazardous Area Response Team, duty manager and London’s Air Ambulance to the scene.
"We remain at the scene.”
Police have closed off the road in both directions.
Fire crew are also in attendance.
