Customs officer shot dead in apparent suicide at Hong Kong International Airport
A customs officer has been found shot dead at Hong Kong International Airport, local media is reporting.
Witnesses said they heard a gunshot coming from the custom officers' changing rooms at around 1pm local time. The changing room was located at the Cathay Pacific air cargo terminal on Chun Wan Road North.
Ambulances were called to the airport but the man was declared dead at the scene, and police are now investigating, although Ming Pao reports that it being treated as a suspected suicide.
The Customs and Excise Department has said it will cooperate with the police investigation and provide help to colleagues and family members affected by the incident.
