Courtois ships two in first 45 minutes for Chelsea
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois conceded two goals in 45 minutes as he made his long-awaited Chelsea debut.
The Blues keeper played for the first half of a pre-season friendly which ended in a 3-0 defeat at Werder Bremen yesterday.
Two contentious penalties, converted by Eljero Elia and Felix Kross, plus a glancing header from Ludovic Obraniak condemned the Blues to a first loss of the current pre-season.
Jose Mourinho’s men next take on Ferencvaros on Sunday.
UPDATE: This article has been updated to reflect the fact that Petr Cech replaced Courtois at half-time of the match.
